Can it be done? I have a cooler and water cooled tig torch from my non functioning miller 330 and an air cooled tig torch on my eastwood 200 ac/dc. It looks like the only thing I'll need to make it work is a female to female fitting for the gas from the front of the machine to the torch. Am I missing anything?Millermatic 210 & 300Miller 330 a/bp w/Miller coolmate 3Lincoln 225 ac/dc buzz box200amp Hobart 16hp portable welderCarbon arc torch, oxy/acy, plasma cutterCNC plasma table
Reply:I did this last week for my TA 185.not exactly sure what you have on hand, why would you need a female-female fitting?   end of torch leads would be male typically, I figure machines would be female gas output as mine is.  water cooled torches return the water through the power cable, and a torch usually comes with the leads attached but not the welder end connector, so in my case I needed to buy a water cooled DINSE conector.    and I needed the hose and connections from the dinse to my cooler.  some of the DINSE connectors come with that hose and fittings, some dont.you say you have everything on hand from you other welder except this F-F fitting?  so why are you asking us?I do like the new set up, much cooler in the hand.  tungstens last much better, less gas used.Last edited by dsergison; 09-10-2013 at 10:43 AM.
Reply:I converted my Miller Syncrowave SD180 a few years ago. I bought all the adapters from Arc Zone. Basically I replaced the DINSE connector that plugs into the machine with one that accepts water.http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...x&cPath=13_673I think if you select a water cooled torch on their site they also have links to the adapters. I would recommend a CK Worldwide torch with super-flex hoses. You also want a hose cover to protect all the lines. By the time I was done the upgrade was kinda spendy but well worth every penny.
Reply:here is a "universal" solutionhttp://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...x&cPath=16_246$1000! to adapt your air cooled welder to be a water cooled one.
Reply:It's not easily done. In fact I only know of 2 people that have done it on a eastwood machine. The problem with the eastwood welder is that it has no dinse connection. If it had a dinse like the longevity 200sx, or AHP it would be done EASILY. But it doesn't so you need a custom made fitting. The less expensive option is to add a dinse connection.Torchmate 2x2 CNC with Flashcut CNC controlsHypertherm Powermax45 Esab ET220i Razorweld 195 MigRazorweld 200ac/dc TigTormach 770, Tormach xstechRazorweld, Vipercut/Vipermig, SSC Foot Pedal Dealer
