Beastly material rack

I go between thinking I made something awesome to thinking it's too big and a mistake.I have some 3/4 plywood I use for the bottom, but the paint added enough thickness that I need to size them down a bit.  I was using this unpainted for quite a while.After painting I have 6 castors (2 in the middle not shown).  What do you guys think?Cheers and thanks for looking! Reply:Thanks for the comments.If I was re-doing it I would make the 'baskets' a bit deeper with less of a stopper height.  I would probably make the basket square instead of angled too.One improvement I did last minute was the flat shelf.  It's harder to see in the photos, but that shelf is really nice for pieces just over or under 4 ft long.  Instead of the pieces having to be centered between two racks, you can just lay it 'willy nilly' on the shelf. It also separates the basket stuff from the more usable length stuff.  The one overall concept is that this rack will have to be placed away from a wall enough to reach both sides.  If the wheels are pre-set in one direction (kick them all so they line up), you can roll it fairly easy with weight on it.  Not something you wanna do everyday, but it works.  I did the A because the rack can't tip over, and I can keep wood and metal on different sides.  The horizontal 'stabilizer' beams can be used a shelf too.  With the floorboards in, you can also store stuff underneath.  It's 8 ft long.  2x2x14g tubing.  Thanks again for the awesome comments.
Reply:Wish I'd been able to post before you painted it.  Looks great, except, go back with a flap disc and round off all those sharp corners.  First time you bend over to pick something from the bottom shelf, and hit your head or shoulders one one of the ends of those projecting arms, you'll be very sorry....don't ask me how I know this...Benson's Mobile Welding - Dayton, OH metro area - AWS Certified Welding Inspector

Reply:Hey guys, I was curious if anyone would be interested in purchasing the above metal rack or what price I could expect to receive if I tried to sell it.  It seems businesses and not individuals would be most interested in something this heavy?  I was just out in the garage looking it over and wondered if selling this type of equipment would be viable.  It was enjoyable to build.There are a few companies online that seem to excel in heavy industry shelving.Just curious.  Thanks,Andy
