Ok, i came across this repair job, and i need to make some new sections on this grill. My question is, does anyone know what this bar is called? its kind of sprocket like. Where can i purchase it? and is there a specific grade steel needed for this application? The owner wants a simple fix, but i told him its not as simple as it seems...
Reply:Its called Bar Grate with a serrated finish. Doesn't look heavy enough for a forklift. Also it must be "tied" in properly to achieve its rated load. You can find it here...http://www.mcnichols.com/products/grating/bar/or herehttp://www.brown-campbell.com/barprod.htmUse their calculator to determine if your grate is heavy enough for your forklift.Lincolin Power Wave 450, Lincoln Powermig 255, Lincoln Pro Mig 140, Lincoln Squarewave Tig 275, Miller Big 40 G(with Hobart Hefty suitcase), Thermal Arc 95S and Esab PCM875 in an already full machine shop.
Reply:Thank you i found some at my local steel supplier, $925 for 3' x 20' pieces.
Reply:dont forget to ask the total weight rateing of the forklift and operater to determine the rating of the grate. them lifts weigh a LOT loaded.Miller thunderbolt 250Decastar 135ERecovering tool-o-holic ESAB OAI have been interested or involved in Electrical, Fire Alarm, Auto, Marine, Welding, Electronics ETC to name a just a few. Reply:No way that grating is strong enough for a forklift, its meant for foot traffic only. And forklifts are heavy empty as well due to their heavy construction and counterweight."The reason we are here is that we are not all there"SA 200Idealarc TM 300 300MM 200MM 25130a SpoolgunPrecision Tig 375Invertec V350 ProSC-32 CS 12 Wire FeederOxweld/Purox O/AArcAirHypertherm Powermax 85LN25 |
