1TORCH - Thermal Dynamics' retrofit plasma torch.Especially 100 amp 1TORCH, any opinions? Consumable life, and cost?
Reply:a guy on the miller site got one and has had nothing but truble with it. i will try to find you the link. he was using his on a CNC table and it may not have been the best chioce for that setup somthing about the starter sequencing, but the thing worked great befor the 1torch and again worked great when he went back to the stock TD torch summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.
Reply:he got the 1torch to try to save some $$ and 3+ months and a bunch of $$ later he is now stuck with a torch he can not use. if you are using it manualy it might be ok. i can see if he wants to give me his e-mail if you want to chat with him about it, he might even be able to give you a deal on the torch as i know he is not using it, seems he said it cut by hand fine just wouldnt work with the CNC so it might work in your use. summer is here, plant a tree for mother earth. if you dont have time or space, sponcer some one else to plant one for you.feel free to shoot me a PM or e-mail me at [email][email protected] i got lots of time.

Reply:What happened was he got a defective torch. Supposedly it was sent back to Thermaldyne for repair. ( LWS was supposed to talk to a certain person at TD. ) Anyway it came back completely useless. After much complaining he was allowed to send it back to the factory himself where it was determined that the torch was defective. TD replaced the entire torch and now he is a happy camper. For my 2 cents I suspect the local guys didn't really send the first torch in like they were supposed to do. The problem was taken care of although it went on way too long. I have read a couple of horror stories on repairs of Miller Dynasty's and a Synch or two.
