Hi everyone, a guy in CL is selling this Miller welder and I'll like to buy it but can't get much information on the WEB. It's a 115v which is suitable for my needs and looks like new. He wants $500 for it, anyone here has used this machine? Thanks a lot72hrs must pass before a person may be considered missing, longer if they own a Jeep.Lincoln 140CLincoln AC 225Miller Maxstar 150S
Reply:http://www.millerwelds.com/resources...Millermatic-90The above link at the Blue Side--above sheds some light on this unit and the subsequent newer versions.Apparently it's a 15-20 year old unit. The 140 is supposedly the same output as the 90.We need to create a separate forum exclusively for the selection, use, abuse of machines lessthan 100 amps output, since there's increasing interest in them from highly educated consumers.Blackbird
Reply:$500 is not a good deal at all. $200 is pushing it. You will also find that real world welding of more than thin gauge sheet metal requires more power than a machine running on a standard 115vac plug can provide. If all you are doing is thin sheet metal or small metal art, then look into a newer hobart or Miller 140.Multimatic 200Ellis 1800Haberle S225 9" cold sawMM 300; Spoolmate 30A w/ WC-24TB 302GDynasty 280 DX Tigrunner |
