Hey guys,Got a request from a pilot, Dimitri, in the 336th fighter squadron out of Seymour Johnson AFB in Goldsboro. He's looking for a rocket as a "mascot" of sorts for his squad to be passed around and to take over seas and for squad functions. Kinda like a trophy, I guess. He liked my Rocket lamp and wanted one, sans lamp guts, but it's out of his budget especially with shipping. He's capped at about $200 dollars. I told him I'd put out the word to you all here in case someone is in his neck of the woods and could build him something. My Rocket Lamp are made from recycled fire extinguishers. Pretty simple, really. But doesn't necessarily have to be built like this. Be neat to have yer piece travel around with them and be a point of pride. If anyone's interested, let me know and I'll hook you up. Bit of a low budget, but I said I'd try and help.ThanksBTW200amp Air Liquide MIG, Hypertherm Plasma, Harris torches, Optrel helmet, Makita angle grinders, Pre-China Delta chop saw and belt sander, Miller leathers, shop made jigs etc, North- welders backpack.
Reply:"Hotfoot" over at the Hobart forum specializes in stuff like this. He's also former USAF. I sent him a PM in case he'd be interested. However, I don't know if he does Aluminum, and and Alum tank would be best for transportability. Here's a rocket grill he made: Attached Images"USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
