I was wondering what you guys are using as far as a cutting table. I am looking for ideas on differnet table designs. Somthing that would catch slag and drop...Any ideas on what works well for you. Pics if ya got them. Also what type of radius tools do you have for torch cutting. I have a Harris 4 in 1 which means it is ok at 4 things, but not great at any. Thanks"If you live in Sacramento you have seen my work."
Reply:You can basically make a square table and then cut slits in two opposing sides and then use 2" x 1/4" flat bar for "slats". Most of the CNC plasma cutters use this design or slats with raised edges. It's simple and effective. Reply:I'll have some pics (hopefully) by the end of this weekend. I just finished welding the frame for my new welding/cutting table two weekends ago.If not, I'll post some sketches of my design. It's basically what Micro said.
Reply:I've seen the idea tossed around about a 55 gallon barrel cut in two, lengthwise. Add legs and fill one half with water, drop a piece of expanded metal across the top for a table and cut away.Ronnie LyonsMeridian, Idaho

Reply:I use steel grading. Like what is used in overhear walkways around equipment. It had lengthwise bars with supports holding them cross wise. I was at a job site doing some work and saw some demo guys tearing down some of the old equipment. I asked the guys if I could take a few sheets, and away I went. I found out the next week, my work was the ones paying the demo guys, if I knew that I would of had a ton of them. If you don't know what grading I am talking about, just reply and I will take a pic.
