Need some help

Hi folks, need some advice as how to do something. I am trying to add a controlled downfeed to my bandsaw. I have a nice trim cylinder off a boat to use. Here is a pic of it ( http://www.mercstuff.com/trimcylparts.htm) , its the top picture. Its is not a two way cylinder but does have two  lines comming off one side, I have a one way adjustment valve (free flow one way, adjustable the other)  and need to know how to hook this up, I think I may need to build a small reservoir. Anyone ever done this before? Any Ideas would be very helpfull. Thanks, Wrenchit
