. Today I picked up a used Millermatic 252. It is pretty clean. Only issue is the voltage knob is broken off, but you can still adjust it with a screw driver. It has a Bernard 300 amp gun and also came with a miller gun. Also came with a 60 lb bottle, regulator, extra drive rollers, and a handful of tips. The machine is 4 years old but looks good. I tried it before buying and it welds nice. I paid $1400. I think that was pretty good. I've been watching and they almost never come up around here, and when they do they seem to be around $18-1900.
Reply:That would be a " REL GREAT'' price by me. did the screwdriver come with it ? Blue is nice, great price on blue is better ! I'm sure you'll find a replacement knob.
Reply:Yes, the actual knob slips on and off a shaft of the control, and the control is part of the board. I can get a new board on amazon for $250. I'm just going to use it as is, at least for now. He still had the knob, so I'm actually going to try and drill out the stub a little and see if can jb weld some kind of pin into it that I can put the knob on.And no, he just wouldn't let the screw driver go, dang it! Reply:Did some looking over this morning, and the Miller gun is a Roughneck C4012. It says 400 amp 100% duty cycle. Don't think I'll ever burn that one up! Funny thing is it is lighter and smaller than the Bernard. The Miller is 12'and the Bernard is 16'. I need to get tips and a nozzle for the Miller. |
