I have been building another aluminum duck blind and my tig torch started to get so hot I burnt it up.  The back cap seized up and the threads were all jacked up!! I guess the head got so hot it just warped.  I am running 160 amps on my precision tig 225 post flow running for about 10 seconds. Argon set at about 15cfh and 1/8" material. I just got my new torch in from ck worldwide it is the trim line 26.  200 amp torch with the superflex hose.  It's the same size as the 17 that I had dimension wise. But the ck torch has bigger ports for air flow would it be better to keep the ck 26torch or just stay with the 17 size maybe still with ck ( only because of better gas flow) . I know I can slow down and let stuff cool down a little while welding.Last edited by vettersjake; 10-10-2014 at 06:33 PM.Precision tig 225Millermatic 185 w/ spoolgunLincoln 140Dewalt cold saw
Reply:If its not a water cooled torch, I would defiantly suggest one.
Reply:Ck17 is only rated 150amps. You just gonna cook it again.Ed Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
