I can SEE what I'm doing so much better........ my hood stays clean........ I can use my 2.50 Diopter because I can stick my face right in there.....So many reasons I like it..... so this semester (I have time for 1 class per semester) I'm taking Intro to TIG...... and I am learning bunches.....I think we are three or four weeks in now.....All of that to just show a couple photos.......Thanks for reading.....PICS (cell phone)........ The rest are on steel still (say that three times fast)..... But am still disappointed I'm not onto stainless yet.......I'm currently struggling with the T joint overhead......... I'm getting my arse handed to me..... I'm still having a real hard time feeding...... So am having too many restarts......... I need that practice too......I did happen to take a pic from a few weeks ago from a lap joint vertical up........Note: working from the iPad so I hope this post works.........PIC: Attached ImagesPrecision TIG 185 and MP 210Bobcat 225NTCutmaster 42O/A tanks.... 2 Argon tanks...... 2 C25 TanksFacebook...... Reply:to many wants, and as a stick/TIG machine is on that list I've got to prioritize at some point. but for now, I don't "Need" it but do "need" a riding buddy, so the new machine will probably have to wait for two or three years till the next quad get's paid off. If I'm not mistaken you've been doing TIG for a while now and "intro" to tig is kind of a misnomer. There are no problems. There are only solutions. It's your duty to determine the right one.Hobart Handler 210Airco 225 Amp MSM Stinger

Reply:I envy your vertical welds... That's the one weld I cannot get right in school. I got out of them but they were nowhere near as pretty as my flats and horozontal.
Reply:Fex, you're doing great bud! They let you use gas lenses or just plain cups? It looks real good. Reply:I'm glad you're taking classes for tig. Many self taught tiggers would be satisfied with the level of proficiency you attained as self taught. They would scoff at the idea of school.http://www.facebook.com/LockhartMetalArthttp://www.facebook.com/pages/Grumpy...44306259043484
Reply:that's great you going to school to further your welding skills.remeber the more you burn the more you learn.keep at it man.
