Should I run 87 or 93 octane in my 305 g with the kohler.
Reply:It will burn which ever kind you feed it. I don't think it matters too much. Check your owners manual for confirmation. I believe it says use 87 octane or higher, so it's just a matter of what you want to buy for it.
Reply:Octane is purely a measure on the resistance to knocking.Run the lowest octane you can.Higher octane fuel might actually lower power, increase carbon build up etc. because it can burn slower.Search google "high octane vs. low octane" tons of articles.Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX

Reply:You'd have to double check this, but I've been told that premium high octane fuel has less ethanol in it. I've used it for all my garden equipment and RVs for a few years because of that. Cheap insurance. The actual octane rating itself is useless unless your machine calls for it. Generally based on engine compression ratio and camshaft/ignition timing. I'd read the manual and see what Miller recommends.TA Arcmaster 300CM3XMT 304S22P12 suitcase feederX-Treme 12VSOptima pulserTA161SMaxstar 150STLHypertherm PM45OP setupStihl 020AVP, 039, 066 Magnum |
