Just used my new plasma cutter for the first time today. Bought it in March and just now got around to hooking it all up. Holy COW! That thing blazes a trail! I used my buddies at his offroad shop. It's a big well known shop around here and his doesn't come close to this thing! I was blown away at how easily it cuts. I did some practice cutting on some scrap and it was tons of fun. I see random projects coming up soon. I have a friend who is into Mickey Mouse. I think I may cut some "ears" out and put it on her lawn for Christmas. She would go crazy for that.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:Sandy,I have a lot of irons in the fire. I have been pulling some out and either giving them away or selling them. It's a crazy life I am sure that many people live, but mine seems unmanageable at times. I have two kids, one plays fastpitch softball, one plays baseball, both have karate classes, golf lessons, we all ride atvs, my wife plays slowpitch softball twice a week and in tournaments some weekends. My wife and I both work full time jobs. I am remodeling parts of the house, building a cabinet for my sister, I have two project one ton trucks, I gotta keep my lawn mowed, fertilized and such. I guess I hate to get into a new box if I don't have time to really put it all together, which is why I waited on the plasma. Now that it's together it's just a matter of plugging it in!! wheeeeeeAm attaching pics of the dessicant dryer and filter I used on the plasma cutter. These two pieces and dessicant added about 500bucks to the cost of the plasma itself. But I think it will really help the life of the consumables from what I have read. Dirty or wet air seems to be the worst thing for plasma cutters.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain
Reply:wlbrown,I no longer loan anything out or let anyone use my tools. My dollar is hard earned and I want to keep the things I have in good working order. Not that I am a total jerk, but this has been a hard lesson learned over the years.Lincoln Power Mig 210MP MIGLincoln Power Mig 350MP - MIG and Push-PullLincoln TIG 300-300Lincoln Hobby-Weld 110v Thanks JLAMESCK TIG TORCH, gas diffuser, pyrex cupThermal Dynamics Cutmaster 101My brain

Reply:I'm pleased to read this post. I ordered my TD 101 this morning. I didn't get the filters you got. I got the thermal dynamics inline filter that I plan on using only for the plasma. I still have dryers/filters in before that too. Make sure and post pics of the fun your having with it. |
