In an earlier post I made about repairing SS sinks, tig seemed to be the prefered method for welding such thin stainless steel. I have never ran TIG before, so I am looking for something a noob can quickly learn to run. It would be nice to be able to use the standard 110v plug ins. I am considering the Miller Econotig. Any suggestions? Thanks!
Reply:If you need to be portable, and don't need AC, the Miller Maxstar 150 is the rig to have.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:I just snatched one up on ebay. There are a ton of STLs (the one without High Freq) on there for under $1200 with free shipping...with the goodies (case, regulator, hoses, etc.) "Ask not for whom the bone bones, it bones for thee" - Bender
Reply:Not to spam your thread, but if you're looking at a maxstar 150, you might consider the TA 200GTS I have up in for sale.Complete setup for less than a complete 150sth, with all of the same features and 50 more amps. Runs on 110V and 220V, high freq or lift start, pulse, etc.
