Just got a horizontal bandsaw for christmas and i would like to order an extra blade or 2. Is there any certain brand that is better then others or are they all pretty much equal. It takes 64.5" x .5 x.025.
Reply:Hey jwright,I found the "Aggressor" Bi Metal and the "Capewell" Carbon Steel blades from Greenfield Industries in Evans, GA to be the best I have used on both my H & V bandsaws. Since I have a blade welder, a couple years a go I stocked up on some 250' coils of both blade material. You may try to find someone who makes blades and uses or can get those blade materials for you. Hope that helps a bit.DennyComplete Welding/Machine/Fab. Reply:I also just picked up a 4x6 saw.... I have used Lenox and Morse for other things and feel they would be good choices.....search ebay as I know there is a seller with Morse blades two in a box for like $30ish shipped.....Mike
Reply:All I can say is PAY the big bucks for the bimetal ones. All I can find around here are the cheap ones and they break A LOT.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor.
Reply:I see some blades have an option for vari tooth blades. are they better then standard tooth ?
Reply:I typically order Morse blades since you can get them in just about any configuration (tooth wise) for whatever kind of material you plan on cutting. They last a long time if properly cooled during the cutting process. MichaelMillermatic 25115" Rockwell Drill Press10" Logan Lathe5hp - 2-stage 80 Gallon CompressorHome Made Sand / Soda Blaster
Reply:Yes, the ones with 10 and 14 teeth are the bi metal type and last the longest for me.DavidReal world weldin. When I grow up I want to be a tig weldor. |
