How do I find good auctions for used welding equipment? I'm new at this.
Reply:google industrial auctionsebaycraigslistetc. Most online industrial auctions have a 5 to 10% seller fee, require a pre deposit and are generally a pain in the ***.you waste a lot of time looking and maybe once a year you actually score a deal.fun hobby, but not really economical as a business.

Reply:Some notes on industrial auctionsThey take all day, plus you have to come back to load on a different dayThe fees here can be 20% plus our state tax of 13%They want a credit card, or big cash depositsThey know what stuff is worth and it's it's going cheap, they buyit themselves and sell it at the next auctionEstate and farm clearing auctions are much better dealsI did see 7 new big lincoln 3 phase welders with external wire feeders sell for $500 eachShiny new red paint.I wasn't after them but in hindsight I could have resold those.

Reply:All our local auctions here just require a drivers license, farm tax/resale license, and you're good to go.I think they're on a shared computerized registrations system here. If you bid on something, then don't pay, it's the last auction you'll be able to participate in for the rest of your natural lifetime. The info goes out to all the other auctioneers in the state I think. It's serious business here. And anyone wanting a buyers fee for an onsite auction can just kiss my butt. I refuse to pay for the privilege of spending money. Online is another thing altogether."Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/ |
