here are a few pics of what i did this week. these are just the bottoms of the stack. stack hieght is around 18 feet. there are 4 of them. there for a new aluminum plant. Attached Images

Reply:they are just tacked together at the moment. didnt get time to weld out yet weld pics will be coming next week

Reply:Im assuming you mean welder wire and gas? The welder is an old miller 300 the wire is 308lsi by avesta gas im using is a tri mix
Reply:fabproevanThe curve and surface of the 'rolled' conical sections look really smooth, how were they formed?If it was done with slip-rolls, what is your procedure toget the smooth curve with no maring or dimples.Opus
Reply:I do roll all the stainless with slip rolls. I must be just lucky not to get dimples in the steel the only prep i do is tape thin cardboard to the stainless before i roll. I haven't rolled anything thiner than 10g. I'll post pics of my rolls tomorrow.. but there are a few scratches in the stainless with i buff out with a scotchbrite padLast edited by fabproevan; 05-26-2013 at 12:20 AM.
