I have a Weldanpower AC 225 DC 210 /6kw w/ CV & CC without a 14 pin outlet.  Years ago I looked into using an LN-7 with it and decided not to because it required a new circuit board which wasn't worth the trouble.  I have heard that the LN-25 can run off of my welder in the proper setting by simply attaching the electrode lead from the welder to the LN-25.  Does anybody have any experience or knowledge in marrying these two pieces of equipment together?  If so I would like to hear how to do it.  Also would a Miller 60M work with my welder by direct connection?Thank you, Ed.Lincoln Weldanpower A/C 225 D/C 210 /6kw auxiliary (code 9113 & 9108)Lincoln Weld Pak 100 MigMiller Maxstar 150 TigLincoln Scratch Tig 200 ampMiller 8-VS Suitcase Flux CoreHypertherm Powermax 30Victor Torches / Regulators
Reply:Does your LN-25 have a welding lead about 18" long coming out of the back?Hook that up to the + or - terminal on your Weldenpower...(Depending what wire your running).Hook up your voltage sensing lead, start your welder, and pull the trigger...

Reply:I haven't bought an LN-25 yet because I didn't know if it could be that simple.   Is there a certain model / type that is as simple as that to work?Lincoln Weldanpower A/C 225 D/C 210 /6kw auxiliary (code 9113 & 9108)Lincoln Weld Pak 100 MigMiller Maxstar 150 TigLincoln Scratch Tig 200 ampMiller 8-VS Suitcase Flux CoreHypertherm Powermax 30Victor Torches / Regulators
Reply:My ESAB 300avs works the same way as AK described.  It's auto switching so you hook the sensing lead to your work clamp regardless of what polarity you are using.Tiger Sales:  AHP Distributor    www.tigersalesco.comAHP200x; AHP 160ST; MM350P,  Spoolmatic 30A; Everlast PowerTig 185; Thermal Dynamics 60i plasma.  For Sale:  Cobra Mig 250 w/ Push-pull gun.  Lincoln Wirematic 250
Reply:Outstanding!  That sounds doable... now to find an LN-25...  Thanks for the response guys...Lincoln Weldanpower A/C 225 D/C 210 /6kw auxiliary (code 9113 & 9108)Lincoln Weld Pak 100 MigMiller Maxstar 150 TigLincoln Scratch Tig 200 ampMiller 8-VS Suitcase Flux CoreHypertherm Powermax 30Victor Torches / Regulators
Reply:Doesn't have to be a Lincoln LN 25. Any VS type feeder will work that way. An older Miller S32P, or newer Miller 8VS/12VS, or Hobart Hefty would work.Note that not all VS feeders have the gas hookup or contactor built in. I believe the Super S32P's from miller have the contactor and gas solenoid installed, but the "normal" S32P's don't. I know others have commented on LN 25's not coming with gas solenoids or contactors as well as those with them installed.Without a contactor, the gun is hot all the time from what I understand. Without the gas hookup, you really would be limited to FC wire only most likely. Not 100% sure since my Super S32P ahs both installed.Oh and you will want to run the wire in CV mode. It runs much better that way and gives you more options..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:These Miller options are a lot cheaper from what I'm seeing on E-Bay...  Do you have any input, pros and cons about these wire feeders?Lincoln Weldanpower A/C 225 D/C 210 /6kw auxiliary (code 9113 & 9108)Lincoln Weld Pak 100 MigMiller Maxstar 150 TigLincoln Scratch Tig 200 ampMiller 8-VS Suitcase Flux CoreHypertherm Powermax 30Victor Torches / Regulators
Reply:The S-32P12 and the 8 or 12 vs are good feeders. I would avoid the 8 vs since it only takes a 8 inch roll. The 32 or the 12 vs take a 12 inch roll or you can put in an 8 inch roll by using a 2 inch spacer. One thing to check on the 32 feeders is to see if has the new style drive rolls. The new style has 3 slotted rolls instead of 3 round holes. Not a deal breaker but it will cost more to upgrade from the obsolete old style. In my opinion these feeders are as good as an LN-25. Some of the 32 feeders have wire speed and volt meters , some don't. On the 8 or 12 feeders some have digital readout and volt adjustment , some don't. Make sure the feeder has a gas solenoid , which you can tell by looking at the back and you will see a threaded inlet. 300$ -800$ range is about what good used ones go for. Newer ones like a 8 or 12 may go for more. Also some may only have an innershield gun which is probably not what you are looking for..
