I am new looking a used welder! Come across a Lincoln 220 AC/DC and a Miller 180 AC/DC. Both are $200. Lincoln is a little better condition with extra wire. Miller is fair condition with no extras! Both are said to work great! Aside from the extras and structural condition(exterior), what would be the BETTER buy! Both are about 30 years old! Thanks!
Reply:Hello and welcome. From your description I'd guess you are looking at stick machines. I'm guessing the Lincoln is the standard tapped AC/DC buzz box sold typically at retail outlets vs one of the bigger Idealarcs. The Miller is a bit tougher to pin down, but it might be one of the older tapped units vs one of the infinitely adjustable ones.I'd probably give the Lincoln the nod from the limited info you have given. the extra power and wire would make it slightly a better deal than the Miller. If it's one of the Idealarcs, then definitely go with the Lincoln.Picts would help if you don't want to disclose the actual adds. Then we could at least easily identify the actual machines and judge from there. $200 for a used AC/DC stick machine is a good deal. Typically I see them around me for $250-450+ on average..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:what is your favorite color? but seriously you need to look at their specs, and decide what you need.If I only had choice between those 2 I'd choose the higher amperage.
Reply:X2 on getting the one with the highest amperage output.
