Gate/fence

My parents picked up some busted up fence.  They wanted me to repair it and install it on the side of their house.  I wish I had better pics because the sun was about in my eyes, but  this is what I have.First gate I have ever done.  Fence goes up to the house.  Works great!My parents didn't want me to fix the big gap under the gate (to the sloping sidewalk).  They said they get a lot of snow there in the winter and don't want to have to worry about pushing it out of the way to get to the garbage cans.The trees will grow in to fill the current gap from the gate's post to the tree. Reply:Parents have great taste, that is awesome ! Is that all HEAVY iron ??? Looks stout. Good idea leaving room for snow for sure . Nice setup.

Reply:Looks great!  If your parents ever decide to actually fill in that gap (next to the tree), it would be easy to weld up a section to that post.  You could even angle the extension piece back toward the bush by about 30* or so.   Same goes for the gap under the fence if they ever change their minds. It would keep a little lap dog inside the yard that way. "Hey I didn't come to look and learn, I came to turn and burn....
