I saw these in a Wilton sales catalog in November 07, and after the first of the year order them from my LWS. The clamp is a Bessey style slide clamp, that has a removeable shoe that can be tack welded to the work to help in alignment or clamping for weld fit up, then after the welding is done, the tacks are cut off and the clamp is removed, ready for reuse. The clamp, Wilton # 63295, is about $50, and replacement shoes, Wilton # 63299, are $10 each. It very well made and has a very solid feel, and at its max has a 9" capacity, the threads and handle are copper plated to help with any slag build up.Jackhttp://www.wmhtoolgroup.com/Products...256&Part=63295 Attached ImagesLast edited by platypus20; 03-07-2008 at 02:21 PM.
Reply:I have never used this particular Wilton product but it looks good in the picture. I can tell you based on personal experience that Wilton vises and c-clamps are second to none. If I needed one I wouldn't hesitate to buy it.
Reply:I am gonna have to get a couple of those, looks like it has 1001 uses.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:we just use the standard bessy clamps with the one end cut off. does the same thing.Have we all gone mad?
Reply:Looks good. Looks like it's set up for through bolts. If a guy had repetitive set ups you could drill and tap.
