CK super flex leak

I know it happens if you leave the cooler of..... but I have never done that and still found a leak today. I carefully cut the cover off of the hose and found what looks to be a dry rotted hose??It has no more than 10 hours of use on it and had no burn marks or any indication of damage to it other than the leak. Second thought was to just trim that section off and attach the hose back to the fitting but I don't know what kind of hose clamp I can use that will fit inside the fitting. It has to be pretty thin so a screw type hose clamp won't work. Any ideas? Attached Images

Reply:I tried today but they were already closed. I'll have to wait until Monday I guess which really sucks since I need the TIG this weekend. I can't buy another torch since I don't have the money for that right now, and I'm a little concerned that if I cut it and try to repair it myself CK might not be willing to help... if it is even an option for them. Has anyone else seen one damaged like that?

Reply:You can buy the crimp collars and crimp tool at you lws. Cut the old crimp off and reuse your fitting. You could also try fuel injection clamps, they are like hose clamps, but smaller and tougher. Reply:Empty cooler and retain coolant. Add distilled water.Tie rag around hose and use the torch.  Keep adding water as you go. Let it leak.Fix it Monday.If it's rotted there it's prolly rotted elsewhere.  CK is very good about their products, they may replace it. As long as it's just seeping and you're getting flow to the torch, just let it leak and top off.Last edited by Drf255; 08-16-2014 at 04:24 AM.
Reply:I'm not going to use it.  If there is even a remote chance that CK would warranty this, I don't wan't to kill that possibility by using something that I know to be bad.

Reply:I forgot to update this thread. The failed hose was replaced at no cost by CK!Great customer service which reaffirms my choice to have all CK products at home and the shop!
