Science Toy XIX (Popsicle bridge revisited)I built something like this years ago and used it for a few years then recycled it. The math teacher wanted to do a joint project and I suggested a bunch of ideas and she liked this one. Bridge must be 1 wide (do not worry about a road bed). At this point I have given no instruction or advice.2.Test bridges.3.Give instruction about forces, load, and design ideas. 4.Build new bridge 5.Test6.Hope for massive improvement. Reply:Here is a test station from our school.While one is turning the winch, a helper is reading the weight scale.This was my daughters bridge with a reading of 425 pound before it broke

Reply:We did the bridge competition back in my vo tech days. We designed it built it and broke it.. I forget the weight that broke it,but it was heavy. Our bridge was low and narrow.. It was a fun time.. |
