I've been looking at Lincolns new compact inverter mig units. They have variable induction and I was wondering if anyone has that on their mig and if you find it useful and for what? Thanks,Pete
Reply:Hello Pete.S., the short answer to your question might go something like this: when you are in short-circuiting transfer mode(lower voltages, CO2 or 75/25 Ar/CO2 shielding gases, generally) the lower inductance setting will yield a stiffer, quick-setting puddle or by raising the inductance setting it will cause the puddle to be more fluid and possibly wet out more. There is a lot more to just how this actually occurs, but for practical intents and purposes the above description should suffice to provide direction for people with that ability on their machines. Good luck and best regards, Allanaevald
Reply:Thanks Allan. It's going to be interesting to try it out.
