Reply:Awesome looking. I did some research on this and it got great reviews. I was thinking of projects just so I could order one. Did you use it on schedule 40 pipe ? That's what I would be using it for.
Reply:I have one of them. Great tool. I picked mine up about 6 months ago along with hydraulic upgrade kit for my bender. Attached ImagesScooterLincoln Weld-pak 155 - .030 Solid wire & 75/25 gas mixMiller Thunderbolt 225Hypertherm PM 85Thermal Dynamics cutmaster 38Gas ax with rose bud attachment
Reply:Nice beefy looking rig! I purchased my USA made 'OL Joint Jigger Model RTN 100 a few years ago for about $150. The thing I really love about my Jigger is it's light weight and portability...allowing me to take it to the work rather than bring the work to it. I just slide 'er on the pipe in any position...tighten the clamp...and hit the trigger. Having a very small garage shop, it's been one of my favorite tools. I spray on Jancy water based coolant about every 10 seconds while cutting and easily get a hundred cuts from a Lenox $15 holesaw. In the photo you'll notice a tab I welded on to easily clamp the jigger in my vise if I so desire when notching small parts. Cheap...cheap...cheap! Reply:I've got the JD2 Notchmaster. I really like it. Works well for me (occasional user).
Reply:I mostly have used a JD2 notcher. The offset adjustment on that thing looks cooler than the other side of a pillow though. I can think of some times when it would have come in handy.I had the unfortunate experience of using an 'Ol Joint Jigger (a well used one I might add) ONCE. Between it and the chinese no-balls drill I had to use, it almost took a flight across the shop. If it had been MY shop it would have. I promptly went back to doing it by hand on a belt sander.
Reply:I have that same Baileigh notcher. Worth every penny and then some. Haven't found a joint that couldn't be done, even step angles. Heck, I've used it to open up the I.D. of some tube before. Great tool if your in the market for one |
