I want to make some patches on my car's body. So I need to form lap joints in sheetmetal patches. For God sake! - what is the name of this tool - it looks like pliers and forms a lap joing about 3/8" - so I can buy it on eBay or somewhere else. Thanks in advance,Nomand
Reply:sheet metal 'joggler/edge setter' is what they're known as in the UKFine for a quick 'patch up' but butt welding in a panel gives better results without moisture traps
Reply:Flange tool? They come as air tools also ,Harbor Freight has the flange tool & punch in one tool.

Reply:Originally Posted by mudbugoneYou weren't wrong about the pliers----the tool does come as a manual tool-- think vise grips with square jaws welded into them to make the flange. They are sold by Eastwood as well as others for your intended usage, but they cost almost as much as the air operated ones which do the job faster plus have the ability to punch holes for spot like welds. Just wanted to point that out.
