shipment came today bought a 2ton engine hoists at northern toolsyesterday (thank god) the bandsaw is great  but i was realyblown away with the sander i was going with the wiltonim glad i went with the grizzly yes thats a frig behide itits huge i also bought the g7315 hd moblie base pic 4this thing s--ks i could have made 3 in the time it tookto put this togeather stay away Attached Images

Reply:Craig,top of the belt is covered beacuse of Osha regulations, don't know if they're selling it to a home hobbyist or an industrial user.  And if you don't have the rollers adjusted right, touch a piece of metal to it and watch the belt go flying off.Ed, looks like you're in for some fun.I r 2 a perfessional

Reply:I have played with the Grizzly woodworking equipment, and feel thay are good equipment for mid use situations, great for hobby use, and fair for continus use. But I have never used the metal working equipment, should not be that far off on the useage in compairance to the woodworking line. Let us know in a few months how you feel.BTW. I have heard that they sometimes overgrease the bearrings. Before you plug it in see if you can cleanup any extra grease before it turns on and spreads the grease arround.

Reply:How deep is the vise on the bandsaw.  It says it will cut 7" pipe so I guess it has to be atleast 3.5 inches deep to catch the center of the pipe to hold it in place. Also how wide is the vise, Im curious as to how much of a bite it has on the piece being cut.Sure looks like a lot of fun your getting in to.  Looks great.
Reply:wow, nice haul.  Looks like Santa Claus parked his slay at your house and forgot about it.I really wanted one of those G0613 bandsaws, but the high blade speed (314 fpm) scared me away, because I didn't want to use flood coolant all the time.  Instead I cheaped out and bought the Grizzly G9742 swivel head BS, which has 80-200 fpm blade speeds. I am sure I will live to regret that some day (buy expensive, cry once...)Too bad Grizzly doesn't slap an inverter on there like some of there other higher end BS; then it would be perfect for coolant or no coolant cuts.Tim
Reply:Yeah thats what has me going back and forth.  Most all the saws have multiple speeds...Is there any problems with just having one speed?
Reply:the vice is 4x6 and opens 7 3/4 and the speed for steel is goodand other metals just slow  the speed of the blade down speed Attached Images
