Reply:They came out with a new bender that does not play with the older 2020... and once they sell out of Dies/accessories for the old style 2020 that's it- which makes the 2020 obsolete.I have the 2020 bender with 1" Round & square dies- set me back about $1,000.00If they sell out of any of the other sizes then I have a very 'spensive 1" only tube benderEd Conleyhttp://www.screamingbroccoli.com/MM252MM211 (Sold)Passport Plus & Spool gunLincoln SP135 Plus- (Gone to a good home)Klutch 120v Plasma cutterSO 2020 benderBeer in the fridge
Reply:So they are all out of accessories. The new stuff looks nice, can't knock them for that. The 20/20 must have been a transitional phase, prior to that the chinese stuff fit their benders.Perhaps they will have a blow out sale. I imagine there is some surplus somewhere.

Reply:This is why you should have bought a hossfeld- their design hasnt been changed for 80 years or so, and their dies are interchangeable with American Bender and some JD2 models.4" die height makes a lot more sense anyway. This is the second model shop outfitters has dropped- their very first one, which was the one the chinese copied, was replaced a long time ago.The new Shop Outfitters Bender now costs MORE than a hossfeld, and they are trumpeting as Huge New Improvements features the hossfeld has had since the 20's. And it still wont do half of what a real hossfeld will do.They still havent adopted standard Hossfeld spacing, I guess so you cant buy dies from anyone else. They still dont grasp about half the basic principles that make a hossfeld bend better- the tall pins, the shape of the blocks to actually clamp the metal, and a lot more. What kind of a company doesnt support their products? What possible assurance do I have that they wont drop this new bender, after you spend a few grand on it? |
