Hello,  I'm thinking of getting a Miller Dynasty 200 DX and was wondering if I could use the ground clip and torch connector that came with my Maxstar 150STH. They seem to have the same type of connection. The argon gas input looks the same too. For the remote, the Maxstar uses a 6-pin connector while the Dynasty uses a 14-pin. I think I've seen 6-to-14-pin connectors.  The idea, obviously, is to get by without purchasing items I already have. Input would be appreciated.ToolSteel
Reply:The Dinse connectors are the same on both machines so your stinger and ground will swap over no problem. If you have a tig torch you can use the one from the Maxstar 150, but you won't be able to use the gas solenoid in the Dynasty unless you change out the dinse connector. The Maxstar 150 does not have a gas connect fitting on the front of the machine like the Maxstar 200 and Dynasty 200's do. To use the on board gas solenoid, you will need to get a Dinse fitting that has the external gas connection on it.I believe this is the dinse connector that will fit the 17 series air cooled tig torches, but double check when ordering. There is another adapter with a larger power connection for 200 amp tigs that I believe is for the 26 series torches with a higher duty cycle. I haven't adapted my 17 torch from my Syncrowave over to my Maxstar 200 yet, but I do have the correct adapter in the shop.http://www.arc-zone.com/index.php?ma...roducts_id=769If you need a pedal, I'd look at the SSC units. They are a lot less money than the original Millers and quite a few guys have them here and think highly of them.http://www.ssccontrols.com/homepage-...ngcontrols.htm.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Reply:Thanks for the input. I ordered the machine this morning. The sales guy says the MaxStar has 25 mm connectors and the Dynasty uses 50 mm, so I bought a new ground clamp and stick connector. As mentioned, the TIG torch set-up is different too. I purchased the 26 series torch from Miller. I believe it's terminated with a 50 mm connector. That and an adapter to go between the torch and the machine and I believe I'm ready to go. Thanks again.

Reply:I adapted the WP17 to work on my Maxstar.  The WP17 I had was originally setup for a bolt through type connector (like on a Syncrowave).  I believe the Dynasty I have had a spare Dinse that I used.  So presumably they are the same.In my case, I put a quick connect on the front of the Maxstar 200 - hopefully I won't knock it off anytime soon.  I seem to use it as a stick welder 75% of the time.Con Fuse!Miller Dynasty 350Millermatic 350P-Spoolmatic 30AMiller Multimatic 200Hypertherm PowerMax 1000G3Miller Maxstar 200DX
