Read the instructions. Appears there is no off position. Says that if it won't darken the solar charged battery is discharged. So what - - Do I leave it in the sun for a day? My Jackson Nexgen was fit to use right out of the box,. Any one have this helmet?Hey~!! It's a hobby. It's not supposed to make sense~!!

Reply:From what I read it might be on the grinding mode check your switches ( I assume you haven't used it yet ) If it was working and just quit, take it back and exchange it.. Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock

Reply:Martinez California huh?Spent about 6mo out there once. Was a nice place, but too doggone crowded like everything else in the Bay Area.Used to like going to the bar in the marina and watching the ships come up the river on the way to Sacramento. If I recall, there was a railroad bridge that the mid span raised when large ships passed, was real cool. It was somewhere in the vicinity, been over 20yrs since I was there.Went to see John Muir's house, was cool.I can remember paying deposit on beer bottles too "Any day above ground is a good day"http://www.farmersamm.com/
Reply:Checked the switches & settings and so far it matters not what settings I use. Maybe my problem is in fact that it needs to charge and also that I'm comparing it to my Jackson NexGen. The NexGen darkens when I tilt it up toward an open window. The Tweeco wasn't darkening even when pointed at the sun. Maybe it's not nearly as sensitive as the Jackson and I'm comparing oranges to rocks. Anyway it was not a purchase it came gratis with the purchase of a welder. The thing actually needs modification to use as the flip on the visor lowers it too much and the adjustment is inadequate to keep the thing off my nose. I like the carbon fiber part and I like the external adjustments but it's not the best helmet. Maybe after sitting in the sun for a day it'll be charged.Hey~!! It's a hobby. Reply:By chance if this the free helmet that comes with the purchase of a Thermal Arc welder?
