I dont mind buying new orings and valves, but this is a Harris 50-9 and I dont know how to set the pilot light valves and what not. But the rubber on the valves are shot. I can buy new valves, but I saw in the break down there is other things that should be looked at too.
Reply:I am sure it can be rebuilt, but rebuild literature is closly held by the manufacturer. I would take it to the nearest LWS that sells Harris and ask them.- MondoMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.

Reply:I see you are in MA, Call Direct Supply and Repair in Plymouth, (508) 746-6555. The guy Al does most of the rebuilds for the welding supplies around here and is a real good guy.Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."

Reply:In my experince alot of LWS ship them out to a few places across the county, yet the prices vary quite a bit. I got lucky in that the LWS we use when i moved up here rebuilds most all O/A equipment in house. it cut my rebuilds in HALF. It's also for a flat rate( mostly) I've had other LWS in other states try to charge me by the foot length of torch...Most any torch can be rebuilt though. I've got quite the collection of vintage two valve torches and my guy will take on any of them. just 2 cents. |
