Looking for a shop/person in the Maryland area to bend pipe - prototyping and low production numbers. Pipe parts go on a weldment so possible welding as well. I have prints for quotation. Thanks,[email protected]
Reply:What type of pipe? Send along what you need and how many and I'll see what I can do. What is the budget?John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:E-mail me with more information and I can give you a quote. [email protected] I could possibly even deliver. I am somewhat familiar with the Oakland area. Contact me soon.
Reply:I'm not as close to you, but my business is mandrel tube bending and fabrication. If you need thin walled pipe/tube bent on tight radii it has to be done on a true mandrel bender with a segmented die inside the tube to keep it from collapsing.JasonTubular Fabrication, LLC
Reply:Tubular does some great work! You have a few good choices from here but shipping kills the final cost. John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Wow - thanks for the compliment Micro! And the shipping does probably kill me on this one. But, if you're looking for thin wall bending it can be real hard to find a bend shop willing to do small quantities and prototyping unless there is a nice big fat order on the horizon. That is the main reason I got into this area - I got tired of trying to talk bend shops into doing my stuff - and that included Panoz work. Low volume and mandrel bending just don't seem to agree.Jason
Reply:Welcome Jason! I agree and it's the same reason I'm building turbo kits. I tried to find shops that would take my jig and make 6, 8 or 10 kits for me with full length tubes - no such luck. Most time the minimum order was $10,000 - $50,000. It makes running a small business even more difficult.John - fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!- bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com |
