Well, all you Kiwis and Aussies, I'm heading to your neck of the woods! We have been asked to help with a Bible printery being expanded in the capital city of Port Moresby.  We should be there from June this year into 2009, and then go who-knows-where after that.  So our current work in Mexico is being cut short and we don't expect any more short-term assignments. So that means I want to sell much of my stuff that I won't be using for many, many years.  Might as well finance some of my newer endeavors.96 Dodge Ram 3500, DRW, Cummins, extended cab, 4x4, 120,000 miles, pwr95 Ford F-250, 460-V8, extended cab, 4x2, 120,000 miles, pwrMiller Trailblazer 301G, Kohler, 200 hoursMillermatic Passport, 6 CO2 bottlesMiller Maxstar 150STH with TIG packageAll reasonable offers considered, still have to research exactly what they are worth, but feel free to start E-mailing me with questions.
Reply:I'm glad you get the opportunity to view so many places and faces, just hate to see you have to let go of the toys. . Just stuff tho, just stuff. Have fun Mac.
Reply:How does the STH 150 handle 3/16"-1/4" plate in Tig mode? I may be interested.
Reply:PM sent......Good luck to you........._________________Chris

Reply:God speed to you MAC. You're still going to stay online, right? If you need an e-mail address, let me  know and I'll set one up for you and anyone else on one of my servers. Take care and watch out for the ROOS! Get a 'roo gaurd on your vehicle! John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:There are three ISP's there and our facility should have access.  My Yahoo account should work anywhere.Do they have roos there?  They are right next to Australia, so I guess they certainly could.  I never thought about it.Haven't decided yet if I'll get a car while I'm there.  We'll see.  I may definitely want to be able to transport all our scuba gear as it's among the best diving in the world.
Reply:Correct, your Yahoo account should work. Wasn't sure if you had a free e-mail or not. I'm sure they do have 'roos. Most of the vehicles I see from outer city areas have 'roo bumpers.  You'll have to get a UTE then...to carry all that stuff. Reply:Wow Mac, what an amazing opportunity.PNG was once connected to Australia by a land bridge, so some of the animals are similar. I imagine they would have smaller versions of our kangaroos. There would also be tribes there that have had little contact with white people, though the mining companies and missionaries are fixing that - I'd best not comment on that. Rumour has it that there headhunters and cannibals in some place until recently.Amazing diving. Amazing fishing. Amazingly dangerous - lots of problems with the locals and the police are way out of their depth.I was offered a job there years ago in Port Moresby, but I wasn't game to take it. You'll likely live in a compound with other whites, and you'll have to be really careful. But I'm sure you've been briefed on this.I'd love to hear about your experiences.Scott
Reply:Oh, and that's one place where even I would learn how to use a gun and carry it everywhere.Scott
Reply:Are they pretty anal about citizens owning firearms?Craftsman 230a Buzz-box,  Lincoln 140T & 180T, Century K2789, PUROX W202 O/A14" cheapo chop saw that cuts straight and square!A toolbox of the cheapest Chinese tools money can buy"Real" tools all old reliable Husky/Craftsman/Proto stuff
Reply:I reckon anything goes in PNG. I've never been there, but being so close we hear lots about it. Our police are often called up there to help out. I keep promising myself a fishing trip up there. One thing that is very popular is the Kokoda Track. It's a very rugged walk - around a week - following the tracks used in WWII. Australia had some major skirmishes with the Japanese up there.

Reply:Well, we got started on our paperwork today.  Wow.  At least it's all in English!I need to get busy with actively trying to sell my stuff.  Don't forget, I also have a square tubing bender, countless hand and power tools.  If you need something, ask me before you go buy it.
Reply:I need a notcher - do you have the JD2 or similar ?John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.comFigures, the first time someone asks for something specific, I don't have it.  I've used a LowBuck notcher extensively, but it wasn't mine.
Reply:That's okay MAC, just thought I'd ask. I'll think of more stuff.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:Hi MAC,How much do you want for your Miller Maxstar and do you know what shipping would run to Long Beach, CA 90814? Thanks,Steve
Reply:I'm still asking $1050 for what I have.  It's in excellent condition, and includes the $200 extra optional foot pedal in addition to the finger remote that came with it.  It also has an aftermarket NEMA 6-50R to NEMA 5-20P adapter for plugging into a full-size welder receptacle.  Also included are many tungstens, torch parts, as well as an extra flow-through dinse connector for using a different torch than its standard one. With all the extras, this cost $1600 when new, from IOC (welder and remotes) and all the extra parts/consumables, including brand new gas lens and several cups and caps.It also includes an extra blue steel cover in case you scratch the first one.It should cost less than $20 to ship to you.Last edited by MAC702; 03-20-2007 at 10:46 PM.

Reply:Maxstar sold.  Passport being considered by many. Also have many DeWalt 18V tools, chop saw, multi-cutter carbide saw, router kit, DW718 miter saw w/ laser and stand, hammerdrill, Bosch SDSMax rotary hammer, square-tubing 3-roll bender, Victor Journeyman outfit, lots more I still can't remember...
Reply:I just wanted to let everybody know that the Maxstar arrived here and was very well packed. I would definitely do business with Mac again. Thanks Mac!
Reply:MAC - what is the DW718, does it cut angles and go back and forth. I'm looking for a decent miter saw but want it to cut larger than 4" width...so it has to go back and forth, right?John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:The DW718 is their best.  But just about any 12" miter saw will cut 4" in any direction without needing to be a slider, I would think.  The DW718 (mine has the optional laser installed) is a dual-bevel, sliding miter saw.I also purchased the DeWalt folding miter saw stand.  It's very sturdy, and still lightweight for folding up and carrying around. This page shows all the modern DeWalt miter saws, and even has a link to a video on the DW718:http://www.dewalt.com/us/woodworking/mitersaw/
Reply:Very nice - PM me with a price.John -  fabricator extraordinaire, car nut!-  bleeding Miller blue! http://www.weldfabzone.com
Reply:I just received a serious offer on the Passport Package, within a $100 of my asking price.  He needs an answer very soon though.  Thought I'd pass this on to you guys first to see if there was still any interest here.  I got lots of questions on it.  It's a 2005 model.
Reply:I'm interested in buying a Dewalt DW718. Would you be willing to ship? Thanks
Reply:Mac, pmed you again regarding the bender. Thanks, NickNick
Reply:Had computer problems this week.  PM responded to now.  Thanks.Will ship anything I have.  It's all currently in Las Vegas, NV, ZIP 89115.
Reply:Okay, I am back in Las Vegas for this month.  Now I can get to any pictures or other specific questions.  Sorry for any who were waiting.  Remind me if I forgot about who asked for some pictures.
Reply:And I still have the Passport.  The other offer needed it before I could arrange for it to ship.
Reply:Mac i pmed you several times about your bender??? Is it gone or are you still waiting on pics? I have another one in mind so you reply will be helpful. Thanks, NickNick
Reply:I'll take pics tomorrow.  Thanks for the reminder.  It's going to be a very busy month.
Reply:Here's the tubing bender.  Feel free to also use this pic if you are adventureous and would like to attempt to build your own.  I have some from each angle.I've already got an offer here for $300, so I'll hold it for a little while if anyone here is interested first.  I figure $40 should be good enough to ship in the US.For scale, the table is 4 x 10 feet. Reply:I had a friend who lived in PNG, there is a real lawlessness about it. Good luck with it. Remember when you go diving they also have saltwater crocs, we have the same thing here, treat with caution.
