Welding contact question!

alright so i stick my electrode stuck sometimes and i sometimes cant clamp the work piece down so is it safe (with gloves on of course) to put the piece of metal off and also rest on the table but the table is grounded

Reply:Are you asking if you can ground your workpiece with your hand?  Not advisable or likely with gloves.If the table is grounded and you don't get in the middle go for it
Reply:If you don't have clamps, which most of us never have too many of, tack the piece down to the table w/ one small tack. Reply:I think he is trying to say, after sticking rod to what he is working on, will he get shocked ir he moves the item to be welded to another area to unstick while holding on to the grounded table. I personally would say , no you won't receive a shock, having done the same thing.RegardsDave
