looking for a good cut off saw with a 45 degree swivel. give me some feedback on pros and cons of yours.
Reply:Get a dry cut saw. It has a metal blade and runs slower than an abrasive saw but the cuts look like they were machined. Search on dry cut saws here.JimCut an MGB and widened 11" C4 Corvette suspension and LT1 Chevrolet power & 6 spd. Reply:thanks, i'll check one out
Reply:I have a Milwaukee 14" carbide blade cut off saw. I really like it. It hasnt had trouble cutting anything that I have clamped up in it. You dont have to push the blade into it, just set the blade down on top of the material and it slices right through it. Let the saw do the work. They list for around 600 bucks. I found mine NIB on Ebay for 349.00 + shipping.
Reply:i look it up. I have been wanting one for a while. i have a hand rail job coming up and it would make it go a lot faster.
Reply:Look at the Rage saw on Ebay. I also have one of their 7.5" metal skilsaw. It walks through 1/8" steel sheetmetal like cutting butter. Wear hearing protection with it though its very loud cutting sheetmetal. I know Rage makes a 14" carbide tiped chop saw for around 299.00.
Reply:Don't buy the HF, I bought one, set it up, turned it on and turned it right off...blade hitting the guard, seemed very un-safe in they way it's made, I didn't like the base. I didn't even make one cut with it. Bought a Craftsman and like it very well.
Reply:I would look into a bandsaw. They are a little more money for something worth bringing home but they are a lot better and safer in my opinion. No sparks, noise, and dirt flying everywhere and you don't need to stand their using it. Set it and go do something else while it cuts.Miller DVI2Lincoln Precision Tig 225Thermodynamics Cutmaster 38Everything else needed.
Reply:I have been lookin at building a 14" cold cut for myself, materials r gonna cost a little more than if I bought a good chop saw. tha blade will be the most expensive part.
