okay so it needs to be able to run flux core, can be 220, preferably under $500, and needs a good duty cycle like 50% at mid amp range. any suggestions
Reply:I think you'll find a 220v fcaw/ mig(which most 220v are both) machine will be hard to find even used. A 110v fcaw new maybe. I suggest looking for a good used 220v, preferably red, blue or orange. Reply:What kind and size of flux-core? How thick of material do you want to weld? I don't know if you'd find something under $500 if you want to weld say 3/8" plate with a decent duty cycle.
Reply:Hobart Handler 190 comes to mind. You can catch them for about $500 on e-bay.http://www.ebay.com/itm/HOBART-Handl...item259c19b04eGety one that has a gas valve so you can run solid wire at some point would be my suggestion.

Reply:I thought this was going to be an old welder or first wire feed welder made thread. I think it was AIRCO that made the first working and patented wire feeder. So, plus 1 on used red, blue or orange.Southpaw recently explained to me about spray transfer. He said you need about 180 amps minimum. I believe him so you would need 220v machine.Any body got any advice about a machine to use for spray transfer.
