Hi AllHi to all from EnglandI have a few days left to send some regulators to Barbados for a contract we have there. Were travelling from England and have to marry German EWM TIG welders to American regulators and bottles. These need to be either ordered in America and exported or exported from England provided they're available asap. I need 2 regulators with flow meter's to fit American Argon bottles. is this a CGA580  ???  If  correct will it fit all sizes of Argon bottle as I'm not sure what capacities will be in stock.I also need an Oxygen regulator with outflow adaptors to fit British threaded hose to heating torch.Acetylene regulator also needed. What are regulator thread codes for these, and again will this fit all size bottles. As far as the outflow from the regulator goes I can probably find an adaptor if I know the thread fitting at your end.Your help would be greatly appreciated, as you can imagine without them I'll be up s---t creak without a welder to make a paddle!

Reply:If there is a fitting you need, it's probably listed in Western Enterprises catalog.http://www.westernenterprises.com/en...r_adaptors.phpUS Oxygen cylinders are almost always CGA 540 for welding applications. There are also CGA numbers for medical O2, and high pressure O2 to 4000 psi ( CGA 577) or liquid O2, but typical gas cylinders are probably CGA 540's.Argon or any other inert gas ( various mig mixes and helium) usually use CGA 580 fittings.Acetylene could be one of two depending on what they have. CGA 300 or CGA 510. The CGA 300 cylinder has a male fitting, the CGA 510 has a female fitting. There are also smaller acetylene cylinders usually  for plumbers and HVAC guys  "MC" cylinders ( 10 cf) that use CGA 200 fittings and "B" size cylinders that use CGA 520 fittings.I know there are adapters that will allow you to use British O2 regs on US cylinders, as well as adapters that let you use US regs on British cylinders, but it's been years since I had to dig for those items. I only had to dig up CGA 540 to British O2 fittings twice over the years. You might find what you are looking for here.http://catalog.superiorprod.com/cate...opean-fittings.No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size.
