So I just finished my first welding project and thought I'd share it with you guys. The link to the thread that started it all is here: http://weldingweb.com/vbb/showthread.php?t=287761As for the table, the frame is made out of 2" 11ga. tubing, 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle, 1" 11ga. tubing, & 2" C-channel. The top is 5 - pressure treated 2x6's and each bench is 2 - treated 2x6's. The first closeup picture of a weld was the first weld of the project. Ended up being a three pass weld!  The other welds are just some pics that the bride-to-be took and I thought I'd share them. Definitely not professional quality, but I'm proud of 'em. For the color we painted the frame Satin black and the top & benches yellow. The table is for my future father-in-law and since he's worked on Cat machines for ~35 years, I thought he'd get a kick out of the colors. Ended up with 2 cans of "rust" primer and 5 cans of "rust" Satin black on the frame and 4 coats of yellow on the wood pieces. Personally I liked it better without any paint, but it was not for me. Anyways, here it is. Hope you guys enjoy. Brian Attached Images

Reply:Nice big table. You did good. That thing will last a long time. It's always best when you get to see something you built get put to use the 1st time. Good Job."The things that will destroy America are prosperity at any price, peace at any price, safety first instead of duty first, the love of soft living and the get rich quick theory of life." -Theodore Roosevelt
Reply:How did your papa inlaw like it?!
Reply:Nice, nothing better then home made. That will last for sure. what about a big '' CAT '' decal for the top and clear coat over it ?

Reply:Nice table, well done!  Minor critique:  Don't start and stop your beads on the intersecting corners, start a bit in from the corner and go across the joint wrapping the bead around the corner before stopping.  Close them up, keeps water out and makes for stronger corners.- Mondo Attached ImagesMember, AWSLincoln ProMIG 140Lincoln AC TombstoneCraftsman Lathe 12 x 24 c1935Atlas MFC Horizontal MillCraftsman Commercial Lathe 12 x 36 c1970- - - I'll just keep on keepin' on.
Reply:Looks good. I used a similar design for one I built for work. Only difference in mine, I used 3/16 wall 2x2 aluminum, 1/4" aluminum gussets, and Trex decking. Now THAT bugger should last forever.  If you cant fix it with a hammer, it must be an electrical problem."Boy, everyone starts with a full bag of luck and an empty bag of experience.
