I wanted to showcase my Custom JetSki Stands.I fabricate my stands out of 2" square tubing & angle. This welded design is super strong, I've had ever model Jet Ski on these stands weighing between 500lbs - 1000lbs. I designed swivel hinged bunks that'll conform to any hull design, great for hull work.I install pneumatic casters (rated at 1200lbs) on my stands which is perfect for travel over uneven surfaces & grass. Some pics. Reply:where's the casters from?

Reply:Niiiccccce...  Those things are 'SICK' man!  (as my 10 year old says..Great welds and really nice construction.  I can see those coming in handy for moving around inside the garage and stuff over the Winter months.  What else do they come in handy for ?  Not being an owner of one, I assume there must be an advantage to putting them on these as opposed to leaving them on the trailers.  BTW, are you using treated lumber for the skids?  That looks like 'normal' 2"x4" in the photos... Just curious.Cheers,  /Jman...Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....
Reply:NICE job,  I have a couple of Seadoos and they are a PITA to work on because they are on a double trailer.  Those stands would work out real nice.Lincoln 255XT Power Mig                                                                    Lincoln Precision Tig 225Hypertherm Powermax 30

Reply:When fabricating my stands having short off-cut pieces that end up being too short for the next stand is inevitable. So what to do with short off-cut pieces? After speaking with my local Jet Ski dealer who purchased a couple of my other stands TUF Sr. Series) we threw around some ideas & my other design was born - meet TUF Jr. Series. These are a couple stands I'll be delivering sometime this week.Height = 14"Width (caster to caster) = 24"Bunk to Bunk = Varies from 18"- 20"Length = 48"Fabricated with my signature pneumatic caster Attached Images

Reply:NICE use of the cut-offs and such, I am curious about a few things as well...First, the design of the smaller 'Jr.' unit is obvious to me, but the bunks look like they're on their side when compared to the 'Sr.' Series....  Is there a reason for this?  Do the smaller units serve a different purpose or a different type of Jet-Ski?Second, when you use the rustoleum, do you find it best to thin it out a bit first or do you just spray with a regular HLVP?  I ask as the paint job looks GREAT!Third, those 'Sr.' units look REALLY sturdy.... Do you think you could modify and add a simple 'hoist' or picker solution to the sides of the units?Since I brought it up,..How 'Exactly' DOES one get a 'Jet-Ski' off the trailer and onto a 'Sr. or Jr.' series for garage storage and/or maintenance?  Are Jet-Ski's very difficult to move vertically?Cheers,/J....Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....

Reply:LOL.... I was thinking the same thing about the 'Neighbors'!  Hahahaha... too funny. Thanks for answering my questions, I wondered how those things were done.  I knew that they were 'just a bit' too heavy to move with a couple guys so I figured there MUST be another way to do it.  Makes sense with the Harness too.  Especially if you have a Jet-Ski on a Carpeted Bunk!  I would assume that an engine hoist would work GREAT for a singe trailer, but you'd likely have to use a smalI ceiling mounted device (a small winch?) in a garage to pull the Jet-Ski up a few inches and then slide those slick stands underneath while pulling the trailer away....  Yeah, I can see that working...  I gotta' say those Polymer skids must really come in handy too....A very interesting project, indeed !  Well done...Cheers,/Jman...Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....

It'll have the greenhulk.net colors, one glance at this thing & you'll know it's the hulk.Jerry sent me some greenhulk decals so I can incorporate them into the build, but seeing as though I have access to a laser jet machine I will cut out the logo & give it a 3D look.I'll post pics once complete.
Reply:Oh dear God; finally a jet ski thread worthy of the site. Thank you!And then, after so much work...... you have it in your hand, and you look over to your side...... and the runner has run off. Leaving you holding the prize, wondering when the runner will return.

Reply:I knew that there had to be some jetskiers on this site.   I have been wrenching on skis for years.  A tiny buy of silicone spray on the carpeted bunks make sliding even HUGE skis effortless.  I used a chain hoist and a homemade sling to hold them up when I am doing small repairs the bottoms.  But the bigger reparis or engine replacements I use the carpet method.  I roll the carpet out sit the ski on the ground and roll the ski over on the side. Here is a picture of my sling in use. Attached Images
Reply:TIGFAN,Nice job on the Sling!  This is EXACTLY what I was thinking about!  How much does this particular Jet-Ski weigh?  What did you have to bolt onto (garage ceiling structure / wood..) in order to support such weight?  Can you post a pic or two of that?  I think some of us would 'Really Dig' seeing that too!Cheers,/J....Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....
Reply:I have regular trusses built for an attic space (built out of 2x6 not 2x4) I ran a piece of 4X4 about 6 foot long across the span of the supports and laid a piece of angle iron across that then warped a chain around the 2 pieces and bolted it together so that only one piece dropped through the ceiling.  WOW that sounds strange.  Here is a picture of where the post is laid.  I have been moving skis for about 8 years like that.   But if the trailer and the stand is about the same height you can just slide them off.   The ski on the lift is about 600 pounds with fuel and oil.  I use that chain hoist for everything.  I pick up the lawn mower when I am changing the blades... about everything you can think of.  A great addition.  I had that ski with my wife and little boy hanging from the hoist and not heard a creak from the rafters. Reply:I recently fabricated a Jet Ski Stand for a friend of mine in California where he & 3 friends will be making a journey along the inside passage of Alaska to Glacier Bay & back (about 1000 miles). They will be having a TV crew from either The Discovery or Travel Channel document their journey & my custom Jet Ski stand I fabricated for Keith will be showcased - pretty cool. Can't wait to see their journey. Some pics of my build! Attached Images
Reply:Very fine thread, exactly the idea... high quality, well thought out design and good follow thru. American made! U should be very proud,   A ?  Are there several "brands" of stands from other manufacturers?  Would a local Jet Ski dealer be interested in adding them to his showroom and sell them for you?  You have a good price point I would think, especially for the quality. For Ex: we have more Jet Skis than mice around here.  So, do you think franchise the fabricating maybe?Lincoln Power MIG 215Lincoln WeldPak 3200HDLincon ProCut 25Lincoln WeldanPower 225 AC/DCIf all else fails... buy more tools

Reply:Petron,..That's awesome about the Documentary, that'll bring some MASSIVE attention to your units and allow you to run a pretty cool DEMO video at the PWC/BOAT Shows!  That new unit has some nice slides on the top and I like those 'Tow Hooks'.  I can see those coming in handy for directional movement and stopping the ski on inclines.  The wheels are definitely better looking too and Quality looks very good.Cheers,  /J...Miller Diversion 165120 amp Buzz BoxVictor Oxy/Ace Oxy/LPGSmith "Little" Oxy/LPGHypertherm Powermax 30Lot's of Misc. tools n' crap....
