Who uses carbon dioxide (cO2) for welding?

Just about every Lincoln MIG welder I have purchased comes with an adapter to use Carbon Dioxide as a shielding gas. Reply:I have both. I usually run Mig Mix But have CO2 as a back up plus my CO2 tank is one hell of a fire extinguisher. Its also a quick way to get cold drinks at those impromptu parties. Mac

Reply:I read co2 is for heavier material, and c-25 for thinner material. Do I have that right?
Reply:My school uses it, and I really like it. Reply:As a guy who doesn't care what a weld looks like as long as it's good, I have no problem using CO2 for MIG.A little extra penetration isn't anything to scoff at.

Reply:I worked in a Black Iron shop years ago and they had me set up at a table mig welding floor supports for a Bus manufacture.....They didn't have to be "Show Car welds" just a weld that was strong.....Didn't clean off splatter or anything......After I burned off almost all my clothes LMAO   I decided I was going back to the Semi Conductor Industry and Tig welding clean stainless parts.......I'm really spoiled  Miller Dynasty 350Twenty Six HammersThree Crow BarsBig Rock
