My shop bought a used Millermatic 250, today my boss asked me to tried the machine, so connect the machine, put parts in places, wires, and then start the thing, the machine was working but something that i never saw happenedwhen i was pushing on the trigger, the machine as a very low voltage reaction, even when i turned the wire speed and the voltage both at maximum capacitie, the machine was welding like if everything was very very low amp, and the feeder wich is inside the machine seem to have a lot of difficultie to pull the wire, i was able to stop the wire rolls only with my finger without any forces, still at maximum capacities (voltage and wire speed). The machine is used, i don't know lot about the inside of a welding machine but i know there is some setting you can change for the current that supplied the machine, is it possible that machine was set on a different power current supplied at the old shop where we bought it ?or its a machine problems ?Calculator > Bevel Square

Reply:Hello LayoutMan, check your cord, plug, and the internal machine connections, sounds as if it could be "shy" some voltage on one of the legs of the input power. Good luck and regards, Allanaevald

It will tell you where the jumper panel is & how to set it up for your particular input power. Where do you live? Some Canadian marketed machinery is also jumpered for 575 volts as well.Start there
