Coke can welding.

Finally got a little better at this. How you guys do a single pass and make it look perfect is beyond me. But each time I try this I get a little better. Started at 29 amps and went up to about 36 ?Standard cup, #17 torch, #6 cup, 1/8" tungsten (yes i said 1/8"  )1/16th 4043 filler. Reply:We used to practice welding beer cans together. BY THE TWELTH ONE THE WELDS ALWAYS LOOKED WORSE.....we used .040 and pure tungsten, although I am told thats no longer the electrode of choice.

Reply:Yes it is strange, it is very hard to get a nice looking bead on cans for some reason. Even when welding along, not blowing threw, all going great the weld still doesn't come out very pretty.

Reply:Its not the plastic part, we are talking about it being impossible to get a nice uniform weld for some reason.
