dialarc and bobcat?

okay so how can a miller bobcat 225 be setup to run flux core and on Millers website it said that a dialarc 250 can do flux core?Miller Dialarc 250Miller Bobcat 225Hobart Oxy/FuelCouple of Dewalt and Milwaukee GrindersJET Bandsaw and Drill Press
Reply:You will need a VS type wire feeder to use wire on either one. Off the Bobcat you'd run the VS feeder in CV mode and set the Bobcat to CV. It will run the wire like any other CV type mig power source.To run wire off the Dialarc, you'll need to run the feeder in CC mode. Wire in CC mode is a bit different than running regular "mig". In short arc, the feeder won't be able to change wire speeds fast enough to mimic CV very well and it will run poorly. This is what most people are familiar with when you talk about "mig" or Fc wire off small machines. If you crank up the amps, you'll push the process up into spray mode and the feeder will be able to mimic CV better and it will run better. FC wire does this well. However it tends to be a hot process and is poorly suited to thin materials. It also has a very liquid puddle and this makes out of position welds like vertical and overhead much harder to run well. It does lay down a lot of material in a hurry, especially if you run big Fc wire..No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Reply:On the Bob Cat, you can get a Spoolmatic 30A spool gun and a WC-115A controller and use 2# spools of FCAW wire in it. Cheaper set up than using the wire feeder, but you have to reload it more often.
