I picked this up at an auction. It weighs 500-600lbs, The top is mounted to cast iron base that has a spindle with bearing at the top. There is also a bolt to lock the table in position. Is it some kind off table to position and weld pipe fittings? With table unlocked, I can spin the top with a finger.Last edited by tpierce; 10-07-2013 at 11:51 AM.Reason: mispelling

Reply:Looks like it might be top heavy.  Any plans to attach it to the floor or a larger base?GravelThe difference between theory and practice is that in theory there is no difference.

Reply:Great find but I would add legs to it.
Reply:It's actually very stable. I can put all my weight-189lbs on one end and it doesn't tilt at all.
Reply:Very nice looking table you have there, jest remember  if you don't anchor it down  Don't try to stop it when it does tip.I wish I had the space for something that large.Joe
Reply:I doubt that was a welding table.  Seems more likely to be for jigging/assembly or a similar purpose."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
Reply:I'm sorry I have no idea what it is actually off of but definitely part of a larger piece of industrial equipment.  If you brought the 200 over to my shop you would have more room for your table.
Reply:Oldendum, I think you're right. I figured it was for holding and positioning pipe fittings to then be welded- thus the rotating table. It's rock solid and really in good condition. I just wondered if anyone here had ever used one, or knew specifically what it is.Pipeliner, I see you noticed the SA 200. I bought it as running machine 1 year ago, and went through it and replaced many parts as well as correcting some problems created when someone put a Jasper rebuilt engine in it. It was a fun project.
Reply:If you were to post a pic of that table in the antique forum area at Practicalmachinist.com, I'll bet somebody would have a good idea."USMCPOP" First-born son: KIA  Iraq 1/26/05Syncrowave 250 w/ Coolmate 3Dialarc 250, Idealarc 250SP-175 +Firepower TIG 160S (gave the TA 161 STL to the son)Lincwelder AC180C (1952)Victor & Smith O/A torchesMiller spot welder
Reply:I hadn't thought of that. I'm a member there.
Reply:TP the SA looks very nice from what I can see.

Reply:Stable it may be, but if it ever did start to go it would likely take off your toes. Bolt it down, or bolt it to a bigger plate.
