Reply:cole_977If you are: flux-curious . . . "Rutile is widely used as a welding electrode covering. It is also used as a part of the ZTR index, which classifies highly weathered sediments".http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RutileRutile: is the grandfather constituent of all E6010's.If you're a geek - check out the 'ZTR index'.Opus
Reply:6010 are classified as cellulose electrodes. 6013, 7014 and 7024 are rutile electrodes although the XX14 are more commonly referred to as iron powder electrodes because of up to 50% iron powder in the coating. http://www.fsh-welding.ca/illicomag/...il---basic.pdf

Reply:Yes, many Dual shield wires have a rutile flux. I wanted to correct some wrong information posted by Opus. He likes to belittle people so I thought it appropriate.Last edited by Welder Dave; 01-24-2015 at 01:50 AM.

Reply:The problem now is that we still dont know what the P stands for, and does P+ mean it has even more P, or ingredients in addition to P.
