Reply:Why 3 turbos?
Reply:If I were to guess its a compound turbo arrangement, meaning that they are in series. Allows all the turbos to spin at lower speeds (extending life/reducing wear) while delivering high boost and high flow. Usually done with 2 turbos, also has an efficiency benefit, based on the turbo outlets though, that's a competition pulling rig. Efficiency is out the window if it is, that's all about putting the most A$$ to the ground.Looks like propane injection is rigged up on that thing too... holy crap.Last edited by NC_Machine; 10-09-2013 at 10:43 PM.
Reply:Thanks for the info, just never seen that setup before. Looks badass though!

Reply:**watched the video**Too much of black smoke (unburnt fuel) for my taste.I drive a 2.0L turbo-Diesel VW Jetta 120+ miles a day. I like its 45-48 MPG. What's that tuck using in the 1/8 mile? 2.5 gallons of #2 + 10lbs of propane? No wonder it keeps breaking.Be wary of The Numbers: Figures don't lie,. but liars can figure.Welders:2008 Lincoln 140 GMAW&FCAW2012 HF 165 'toy' GTAW&SMAW1970's Cobbled together O/A

Reply:Don't forget that is a How Many Ton truck, imagine them in a 2500 - 2900 pound car or what ever. A few TS cars are going in that direction, they say the cars they are running in the other lane are flying by them at 3/4 track and later.
Reply:I cant see any videoCan someone post a direct link? Thanks

I know a few guys that have put duramax motors in their chevelles and they run 10's and get 30 mpg. I would like to see gas motor do that........It is a race truck and I don't think he's too worried about gas mileage. so yeah unburned fuel is common in these and the tuner for this truck knows what he's doing, he used to tune nascar racecars.
Reply:Fuel is not a good coolant in a diesel like it is in a gas engine, more of it means more heat, it does not form the cooling blanket over the piston like gas in a gasser does. That is what methanol/water injection is for, it cools the air charge going in and keeps piston crown temps down. This is a fast truck, and it runs very clean considering the amount of power its making. Once it gets to full boost anyway.
