I found this machine on Craigs List. It is 3 hour drive from me so I wanted to call about it first. But, I know nothing about this machine. What do I ask? Is there anything in particular that is trouble on this machine that I should ask about? The ad says "Runs Good". I guess the obvious liek how many hours, and such. Anything else? He only wants $800 for it.Basically, I have never shopped for a Welder/Generator so I don't know what to ask.
Reply:JC, the bobcats are good machines. I have had several over the years. Three of which had over 3500 hours on them and never missed a beat with good care. I honestly never had anything that stood out as being a problem with any of mine. With the exception of replacing a part every now and then they all ran fine the entire time I had them. Find out the hours, and pictures. Normally the condition of the machine will tell you how well it has been taken care of.I'm a Lover, Fighter, Wild horse Rider, and a pretty good welding man......
Reply:I got one. Its old and loud. But will strike an arc and burn 7018 all day with no problems. I will say it is a little weak on the CV power. It will run my 3035 spool gun, but struggles with my xtreme 12vs wire feeder.
