power max 600 repair question

not sure if I am in the right place or not, I'm new here, I have purchased a used Hypertherm Power max 600 at auction from a place that sold off all their equipment, thing is the plasma cutter does not work, it will not strike a arc at all, the machine powers up, fan blows, lights are lit correctly, air comes out the torch at all times and when I pull the trigger the second light down (the ok light) goes out, I'm in the Atlanta area and would like to get this machine looked at asapcan anyone help out here?thanks! Reply:Tom,From the symptoms....it sounds simple. Most likely the wrong mix of consumables in the torch...or an overtightened retaining cap. I would suggest finding your local Hypertherm distributor....and asking for help from them. Make sure you have the manual, make sure the right parts are in the torch....and have someone that has used a Hypertherm torch in the past try it out.You can get an operators manual as well as a service manual from the  www.hypertherm.com website......have your system serial number ready and go to the xnet tab on the home page....there is a ton of help there. Under the "contact us" tab on the home page you can get info on where to find  a local distributor (many are trained on simple repairs) or a regional repair facility...or for the factory tech service line.Best regards, Jim Colt  Hypertherm
