So everyone is always asking "what do I need on my truck" ? Years of experience working in the field away from modern comforts have taught me a few thingsThis is almost as important as a reliable truck, good welding machine, quality tools, and a good lunchMake sure it is in a waterproof container and ready for quick deployment.......Disclaimer; "I am just an a$$hole welder, don't take it personally ."
Reply:I always keep a container of baby wipes & a roll of paper towels behind the truck seat. Some guys prefer to call the baby wipes "manly wipes" though!Mastering others is strength, mastering yourself is true power.
Reply:I always keep a change of clothes (including socks and drawers), tp, rain gear, a couple of cans of soup, as well as any welding related crap I might need. Everybody laughs when they see the beat up cans of soup, but those that have been stuck on a 20 hour call out stop laughing when they are eating it. I used to keep a way to heat it, but just got to where I like it just fine cold. Everything there has been loaned out to those in need (except the drawers). Everyone who has borrowed has become a convert and kept them on their truck. You only need to be cold/wet/hungry/or faced with squishy drawers, one time before it all makes sense.

Reply:When I was in Iraq and Afghanistan I kept a roll in my pocket in a ziplock bag.Food is also a good idea.  Do that same for lunch sometimes.

Reply:I have an enclosed trailer, in that trailer is a roll of TP and for dire emergency a 5 gallon bucket , 2" of cat litter or speedy dry, use your imagination for the rest. Oh yeah, a top for said bucket is a very good idea. Change ASAP.   Wiping A$$ is a good idea but privacy is not always easily had. Reply:Wow!  All the fun I missed by working most of my welding career in pipe fabrication shops.  I always knew there was more to welding.  Ohhhh the good life.
