Trash compactor

]Today's job was to fix this machine the floor and bottom of ram were worn out. Just the basic cut out the old and weld in new steel with 7018. We cut the new 3/16 steel with the circular saw job worked out good we used  two carpet fans to vent the smell of burning garbage and welding fumes. This machine compacts trash into small dumpsters.used the portapower to push the new floor down tight. Attached Images

Reply:Apartments will buy those packers..... Called VIP's usually....... The pack into 2 yard containers at a 4:1 ratio........ Reply:Just thinking about the stuff that goes into those, all the potential things that have been skooshed, gawd awful juices that come out, makes my skin crawl. Then somebody has to weld through all that 'whatever'.. If it was up to me to fix I'd pick it up with a disposable crane and drop it in a blast furnace and throw the crane away. Reply:I have done electrical trouble shooting and repair on quite a few of those compactors in my past.  I do not envy anyone working on those contraptions!  Welding without steam cleaning first (just a dream) really makes your day!   Best  Bob
